Tiger Bitumen supplies four penetration grades in new steel drums for road construction and asphalt production: 35/50, 50/70, 60/70 and 80/100. Compare their published specifications, check which one your project specification calls for, and request a quotation for drum supply.
Each grade is supplied in Tiger Bitumen’s 180 kg or 150 kg new steel drums and shipped in 20ft containers from Karachi. Availability, quantity and shipment timing are confirmed in every quotation.
Bitumen 35/50 in drums
Bitumen 50/70 in drums
Common paving grade in specifications based on the European penetration system.
Bitumen 60/70 in drums
Widely used for hot mix asphalt in road construction and repair.
Bitumen 80/100 in drums
Often specified for cooler conditions and lower-traffic roads.
The two numbers in a penetration grade are the allowed range for penetration at 25 °C. Plotting the published ranges shows where the grades sit relative to each other, and where 50/70 and 60/70 overlap. Select a grade to highlight it.
0.1 mm (dmm), ASTM D5. Higher means softer.
°C, ASTM D36. Higher means stiffer at high temperature.
In "60/70", the needle penetration test must give between 60 and 70 tenths of a millimetre. A lower range means a harder bitumen.
50/70 and 60/70 share part of their penetration range but have different softening point limits. They are not interchangeable on paper: order the grade your specification names.
The values here are published against ASTM test methods. If your tender cites EN or another standard, tell us which properties must be tested and reported.
Values as published by Tiger Bitumen for each grade. A dash means the property is not listed in that grade’s published specification. The inspection scope for your shipment is agreed in your contract.

The grade is set by your project specification, not by the packaging. These are the points our export team checks with you before quoting.
Tender documents usually name the grade and the standard. Send us that clause and we quote the matching grade.
Harder grades such as 35/50 are often chosen for hot regions and heavy traffic; softer grades such as 80/100 for cooler conditions and lighter traffic.
If acceptance testing follows a standard other than the ASTM methods published here, say so in your request so inspection can be planned.
Drummed bitumen of any grade is heated before use. Harder grades need adequate heating capacity to reach working temperature.
Drums are 50 cm in diameter, made from 0.6 mm ST-12 steel, and can carry your marking with the grade name. See dimensions, filled weights and how drums are loaded into 20ft containers.

Recent SGS inspection reports are published for 35/50 and 50/70. For any grade, third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or a similar agency can be arranged, with scope agreed per contract.
Penetration grades 35/50, 50/70, 60/70 and 80/100. Availability, quantity and shipment timing are confirmed in each quotation. For other grades, ask whether drum supply is possible for your order.
No. 60/70 is graded by penetration and VG-30 by viscosity. Some specifications accept either; check yours, and ask us about viscosity grades if that is what you need.
Harder grades such as 35/50 are often specified for hot regions and heavy traffic. The final choice belongs to your project engineer and specification.
Testing and reporting for each shipment are agreed in your contract, including third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or a similar agency where required.
Mixed-grade loads are confirmed case by case. Tell us the split you need when you request a quotation.
Tiger Bitumen also supplies bitumen in 1 MT jumbo bags. See BitumenBags.com for that format.
